Updating VPN profile

Every time I open a new site in Safari on my iPad Air, a message pops up stating that to continue I need to update my VPN profile. Any ideas on how to update the profile would be appreciated. I am also running Adblock and I have tried deleting and reinstalling Adblock, with no luck, the message still appears in Safari.

Hi Anetti, I have the same problem! Could you please tell me what other profile you found? ("I had another look in settings and found a profile for Adblock and deleted that and in turn it also deleted the VPN profile.") I can't find anything else (I deleted both the app and the VPN profile) and the message is still appearing. I would be very grateful. Thanks!

Forgive my moment of stupidity!! I forgot this is on an iPad, not a Mac. So, back to the VPN that you say is fine if you do not install AdBlock. I would suggest you contact the developer to see if he has a suggestion or use a different VPN such as the Saturn VPN I linked for you earlier. I've had no problems with it or AdBlock. In fact, I just installed the iDevice version of AdBlock Plus and turned on my VPN. They seem to work just fine.

Not quite correct. When I deleted the original Adblock profile in Settings the VPN profile also was deleted. It was installed as part of the app for Adblock, I had not sourced a VPN in itself, it was part of the package of the Adblock program. I had been using Adblock (and the VPN) for well over a year, they ran in the background in Safari. It worked well, the only thing I didn't like about it was that when using a search engine it would not open a page if it was an ad, as of course that was what I was blocking, but there were always ways around that.

A few days ago every time I opened a new page in Safari, Google or even when using The Seek or Ineed Job apps a message would pop up saying if I wanted to continue using Adblock I would need to update the VPN profile, which takes us back to the beginning of these posts.

I first tried just deleting the VPN profile in Settings, but was not able to do so. I then deleted the Ablock app, but the messages keep appearing. Next I posted my first post in this forum, I then had another look in Settings and found a prolfile for Adblock and was able to delete it and it also deleted the VPN profile, but the pop up messages kept appearing. When I turned the iPad off then on again the messages disappeared.

This is about where you first came into the picture.

I have now installed the Adblock for mobile, it is running in the background in Safari and working well so for the time being will not bother with an actual VPN program and will see how it goes, as the iPad is mainly only used at home and rarely used over open public networks.
