Tried using Apple Pay at a store. Rejected for missing debit package. Anyone else had an issue like that?

If you are in the US and are paying in a store using your debit card via Apple Pay, you may be prompted to choose Credit or Debit on the terminal. If you are asked to make this selection, Apple recommends that you always choose Credit. Choosing Debit may not always work successfully with some older merchant payment terminals and backend systems.
