Hi,
There is quiet a variety of Keyspan USA-28x USB adapters at my work place. Since Os 10.10 they are all of little use. We just don''t downgrade our computers to newer systems anymore. The USA19HS driver mentioned by John, crashes the system every time you plug the **** thing in. Then if you leave the adapter plugged in (during the restart) the system seems to like it. If you unplug it and then want to use it again - the system crashes... again.
The CB-RS232 from SABRENT does not freeze the system and seems to work fine - I have only checked that it does not freeze the computer, registers the port and can be freely plugged-in and removed without crashing the system. The driver is for Os 10.6 and 10.7 and has to be installed through the Ctrl+Click method. RS-232 is not what used to be a standard apple port though. So if, God forbid, you have been using apple hardware and guidelines in the past to build something yourself (which is what we did), then too bad - you just wasted the last 20 years.
