Is family share good for a mom & teen sometimes dad phone

thinking of family share for sharing music & Maybe pics . Must contacts & texts and emails be combined as well..? Will I ge subject to gps moneroring & will I get to read my sons chats. this is a serious question, drawbacks versus benefits. Thanks.

ulimately I would like to combine &'I book too

we both have updated iphone 6. We already share rtgrough office 365

better yet, what gets shared.? Bottom line, what doesn't..? Thanks

Texts and emails will not be combined.

and you will not be able to creep on your sons chats.

I use family share with my wife and kids. Ultimately you will not be able to read each others' texts or emails. Really it is designed to share items within the same family on different Apple IDs. Just know that if something is purchased under one Apple ID and they leave the Family Share Group, the remaining members in the group will no longer have access to the content.

For example, if your teenage son asks to purchase the Avengers from iTunes, everyone in the group can watch the movie. Once the son moves out of the house and is removed from Apple Sharing, the rest that are still in the group can no longer watch the Avengers unless you purchase it again.
