Ipod 5th gen icloud locked

i purchased an ipod 5th gen and the ipod is icloud locked and im trying to get ahold of thenoriginal owner like this thread said to do and it is nearly impossible for me to do so can i get help ? I Followed the instructions on the activation help screen and it told me to go to the apple help website so i went and still no Help . it told me to get in contact with the old owner. I mean it is nearly impossible to get in contact with the person when their email address isnt visible and their phone number or contact info isnt visible. I dont know what ios is currently operating. But i can really use some help

Unless you try to get a refund, no other help is available with this issue. The activation lock is an anti-theft measure.

THeres no way to get in contact with the original owner. I mean why does apple think the original owner is always gonna be involved in It. My guess is that maybe this is a stolen device and i just either want to get it unlocked or have the owner reimburse my money that i paid for the ipod and he can have his back. I dont mind goving him back the ipod i just dont wanna feel like a jack *** for buying this icloud locked device that i didn't even know was locked

I Lost my iPod yesterday in School bus stop I fell on The snow I tried to find my iPod its offline, then I did lost mode no luck
