iPhone 6 battery suddenly draining fast

I've had my iPhone 6 since the end of October 2015. Everything has been great, until recently. Suddenly, my battery drains A LOT faster than usual. I never let the percentage get below 50%, and I don't have many apps, the brightness is always halfway, and it's on DND overnight. I have AppleCare, but would they replace the battery or would I have to buy a new phone through applecare? Thanks.

My wife also had the same problem on her iPhone 6 two months ago. Same steps, we turned off background apps and shut off bluetooth and so on and so forth. All the troubleshooting steps Apple mentions online. Which by the way don't make sense because the phone went from working perfectly to all the sudden not being able to hold a charge almost overnight. My wife is not a power user either and has very few apps she actually uses. Anyway I took it to the Apple store and waited in line for a couple of hours and at that point insisted that they replace the battery even if I had to pay full price for the repair which was around a hundred bucks. For me I'd rather pay the 100 bucks to make the problem go away than have to spend half a day standing in line at a crowded Apple store. Anyway, that worked and she hasn't had a problem since.

Also a new map feature showed up recently, or I just started noticing it, 'Show parked location' where the phone is now periodically popping up a notification saying it saved the location of my car. My opinion, there must be some power consuming process running in the background that monitors my phone and decides that I have been in my car and parked it so it can save my location and show me a notification. I turned that off using the switch in the 'Maps' settings window. Will see if that makes a difference. Has anyone else noticed this feature? Is it new or I just didn't notice it before?

THis is now classed as a known issue & Apple are working on a solution in the next iOS update. It's has affected my iPhone 6 since iOS10, despite keeping my iOS, apps etc up to date & despite a reset, resetting to factory settings & as a last resort a complete restore. Apple support have checked my hardware & acknowledge it is an issue many users are experiencing. It's just a case of waiting for an update.

IF you want to feedback on this, go to Apple Support in your country & use the feedback option. Hopefully they'll get it sorted sooner rather than later!

Same here.

Are there any officicial responses from Apple about that glitch? All came out with the new iOS. Had never any issues with my battery before.

I am using iOS beta and the last iOS update didn't solve this issue yet. So I hope with the new iOS update when available for public there is a slight chance we can have this solved. But again, the Beta version is showing that the issue is still there and there

I took my phone to Apple Store, they did the check and suggested to restore the phone. I did the back up and restore...and didnt' fix the problem. Then I did a new install without any apps. I still have the same problem. I am not sure if I should replace the battery. It could be the software issue that confuse with the battery status. I am so not sure what to do...

Someone said that replacing it will make it worse, but in my experience doing nothing will also make it worse. I have an appointment tomorrow to get a new battery because at this point I cannot use my phone for more than 30 seconds without it shutting down. The only way I can turn it back on is heating it with a hair dryer!! You can wait and see if your problem goes away if you'd like, maybe I'm just a really unlucky person.

The corrent conditions just not acceptable. The phone is fully charged, after few mins , the battery drop from 100% to 10%, sometimes, shut down! I ordered one from eBay and going to replace the battery. But I do think this issue is to do with the IOS . There is no answer or support / recall from Apple on this iPhone 6 model so will try to replace battery and see.

My iPhone 6 battery started draining inexplicably just two days ago after two years of trouble free service. I could almost watch the battery percentage go down by the minute. Very weird. Anyway, I combed through the threads below, nuked my Uber app and turned off the 'show parked location' option and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks to all who contributed to the fix!

Same thing happened to me. The strange thing is, my boyfriend has an iPhone 6 purchased at the exact same time in 2015 (through AT&T) mine is through Verizon. He has zero issues. Ever since I upgraded to iOS 10, my phone has been draining like crazy, and dying completely between 50% and 30%. I had to purchase a charging case, tried turning off GPS location, nothing works. I will probably have to try back-up restore next...

Apologies for the rambling. Hopefully 3 time's the charm. It continued to drain even on wifi so I searched again and found this link. I checked the battery consumption as advised and noticed my 'Calendar' app was consuming 49%! I updated all my apps and after 24 hours, the battery appears to be functioning normally now. http://www.gottabemobile.com/how-to-fix-bad-ios-10-battery-life/

I had the same thing happen to me. I tried almost everything listed here, none worked. Went to Genius bar and they replaced the battery in my phone. This did not help. After 3 more visits to Genius bar the replace the phone. I set the phone up as new and did not do a restore - same issue. I again reset to factory and DID NOT ADD ANYTHING TO THE PHONE - NO APPS, MAIL, NOTHING - same issue. Went back to Genius bar - they replaced the phone again - NO CHANGE. At this point the phone is mostly unusable and Apple is of no help. At this point I am convinced it is an iOS issue since a complete factory reset with wiping all data and not adding anything does not resolve the problem. I would try to do the setup of the phone without any iCloud connectivity to verify there is nothing there causing an issue but this is not possible.

I will likely trade this in for an Android - this was my first iPhone and it has not been a very good experience and is not just terrible.
