How do I put a bulleted list into a numbers spreadsheet?

Help! How do I put a bulleted list into a cell in a Numbers spreadsheet? I can't work out how to get to the next line by hitting the return key without it moving to the next cell. It's very frustrating. Any help gratefully received.

Wayne,

On Macbook Pros and Airs, and I think many other Macs, the option key is not the second key from the left. But it does have alt on the top and option on the bottom.

And, as described above, option-return works great with bulleted lists. Saves having to hunt about to find that 8 key in the top row. And on my machine option-8 inserts an extra bullet symbol at the end of an item in the bulleted list.

Option-return, on the other hand, will start a new item below with the bullet.

On my keyboard alt and option are on the same key, with alt on top and option on the bottom. Here that's commonly referred to as the option key. To get the alt on my keyboard you'd have to press shift-option, which on my keyboard won't give you a new item in a bulleted list. Anyway, glad you were able to sort out your problem.🙂

Thanks everyone for your help. My keyboard is different to the one you mentioned Wayne, but thanks anyway. I use a wireless keyboard with my iMac mostly, but occasionally my MacBookPro as well. I don't have a key that actually says option, so that's a bit confusing. It turns out the equivalent on my keyboard is the alt key. That seemed to do the job.

I appreciate all your help, it's been a problem that has baffled me for awhile! Thanks to you all, I've not solve it. Yah!! 🙂

Cathie
