Q: apple tv with samsung smart tv won't work

I have apple tv generation 2 or 3 (they look the same and serial number way too small to see). I have a new Samsung smart tv and apple TV connected to HDMI2. When I try to change source on TV to HDMI2 it says no internet connection. However the TV is connected to Internet which proves out checking network status and the fact I can stream Netflix on Amazon Firestick and I can get Sling also. Any ideas why Apple TV can't find the network. I have WIFI of course and an Apple Airport router.

    Have you connected the Apple TV to a network.?

    In addition to Csound1's comment, you can quickly check the status of your Apple TV by looking at the LED indicator:

    • LED light steady - the unit is on.
    • LED light flashing slowly - the unit is initializing.
    • LED light flashing rapidly - there is a problem.

     

    If yours is doing the last item, I would suggest that you do the following:

    • Restore the device:
      • Settings > General > Reset
