Using Garageband 10.0.3 - Macmini late2014
The app is adding echo/reverb to my entire track without my direct consent. I only notice this after saving before exit without restarting the track from sitting at rest. I looked for a window of control over this but I cannot remove the effects. What am I missing here?

There is a Master Echo (and Reverb) setting accessible on the left side of the Smart Controls window that may be checked. From the View Menu select Show Smart Controls. You may have to expand the window up a bit.
You have to click the disclosure triangle at Plug-ins in the Smart Controls for the selected track to see the Master Echo and Reverb: Have you checked this?
Thank you for the direction. I did check this area, reverb and echo are unchecked, and all effects are disabled. I even went into the reverb edit tab and turned each on and off to gauge any difference, but with no change. Still have an uncontrollable reverb applied through the entire track. Is there a way to pull up an old save in attempt to undo the involuntary edit? The only thing I notice that I do to make this happen is, for example, letting the full track play to the end, and then closing the app or shutting down the computer will ask if I want to save changes. Unless I am involved in recent editing I click to accept, as I have developed a decent habit of saving every 5 min or every change.. When I close the app and it asks do I want to save the changes, apparently, it is modifying my track somehow by itself. This has happened more than once, but not always. Only factor I have found consistent is the save prompt after the app sits dormant.
Just to be sure - have you checked, if any automation is set on the Master Track?
Ok guys, on further investigation, this time I was mistaken, Even more confusing, this time my entire computer is now in reverb. All audio. I'm not sure what happened or what I did, something changed during the current session. I'm not sure where to find a master audio settings for the computer other than in system preferences and that is limited. Any ideas?

Sorry for introducing a subtopic to the OP. I had experienced the phantom reverb saves on multiple recordings, and this time assumed it was a duplicate issue. I am now addressing the entire OS.
NVRAM reset seems to have fixed. Still not sure the source or reason, but will respond if I see this again. Thanks for your input.
