How do I set up automatic backup on iPhone 6s

I bought a new iPhone 6s Plus yesterday. I had been backing my old iPhone 5 up to my computer. I thought the new phone was set for automatic backups to iCloud but I just got a notification that the phone had not been backed up for many months.

How do I set it up to back up to iCloud automatically at a certain time of the day?

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 9.2.1

You cannot set it for a certain time of day. Once iCloud backup is activated on the phone, it will backup once every day when the device is connected to power, Wi-Fi, and the screen is locked. Go into Settings>iCloud and make sure Backup it turned on, and you can try a manual backup. You can use this support document to troubleshoot iCloud backups.
