Headphone jack port damaged.

MY headphone jack was damaged either recently or a while ago, and my apple earbuds will not change the volume and the right earbud's audio is wierd. My other earbuds that only have the two metal bands, not three on the jack, still work fine with it. I tested my apple earbuds and they work fine. I can obviously see a bit of damage around the port. My question is, should I ignore it or fix it? I can put it off for some time.

It depends....unless it's a manufacturing defect it won't be covered under the warranty. (If you have apple care plus then it would fall under your 2 allotted accidental damage repairs)

So if you take it in and it's not covered then it's an out of warranty replacement. In that case, put it off as long as you want because it'll be a couple hundred dollars (for out of warranty you pay a fee and they replace your iPad for a replacement...which usually is not brand new)

If you do have apple care plus then it is best for you to take it in before that warranty expires because the apple care plus fee is 49 dollars
