Q: Deleted a chat in messages app on mac

Hi,

 

I deleted a chat on my messages app on a mac book air. I know that there is a folder in the finder where all chats are saved, but is there any way to get this chat back into the app?

    The warning message states you can't undo this action, so I don't think it can be recovered. I just tested it and could't find the chat in the User Library.

    Hi,

     

    Saved Chats are in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.iChat/Data/Library/Messages/Archive

    But as Eric says Delete does mean Delete and it will be Gone.

     

    You might (I restate, Might) be able to back step if you have a Time Machine Back up.
