Bretford powersync 40 cart beeping and red lights flashing

Our Bretford Powersync 40 cart for iPads is making a constant beeping sound when powered on. Two red lights are flashing inside on the left. I do not have a user manual or troubleshooting guide and cannot find one online. I'm too scared to leave it on with the iPad's charging. They need charging though
