Connecting to a wifi account does not open a place for the password

I am visiting a place with good wifi. On my MacBook Air I can sign in to the local wifi account by selecting that account and entering its password.

However, when I try to do the same with my iPhone 4S no space comes up for me to enter the password. I've re-booted to no effect. Any ideas?
