Q: Text display problem on messages app for macbook

Suddenly all of the text on my messages app is bold, and I can't figure out how to fix it. I've quit and restarted the app several times, and even restarted my macbook to no avail.

Messages look like this:

and I find it hard to read and unpleasant to look at. Can't find anything in the settings to change it, HELP

    Hi,

Messages > Preferences > General section is where the Font choices are now.

However you can tweak this by going to System Preferences > Accessibility > Displays and setting "Reduced Transparency"

This makes several changes to the look and feel of the Desktop - the Dock is less "See through" and does not show the colours from behind.  Same for the Menu Bar.

It also allows you to choose more Font choices in the General pane.

"Other" allows you to choose from the complete Font List. Style as well as size.

The only other way is to edit the file that produces the text and balloons on your Mac but this is not easy to find  and I would think is unlikely to have happened.
