View DWG file in finder

View DWG file in finder

Is there a way to view DWG Files in Finder like you can see a preview of say a JPEG file, Where you can actually have a preview of the file so you do not need to pen a program like Autocad etc?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)

Autodesk only makes DWG viewers for Windows. However, they recently provided a web interface to view DWG files, providing that you have enabled WebGL in Safari (Preferences : General : Allow WebGL). Otherwise, without a currently compatible DWG Quick Look plug-in, or installed DWG viewer ($$$) application, you are out of luck with DWG file icons.

I tried this and yes it does work.

I have some DWG Files that give you a preview in the but not all Most give you the DWG Icon and that it.. I have tried the file viewers, but thats not what I m looking for

Thank you I have tried all of your suggestions.. As I said to Cerebro, I have some DWG Files I can see as a jog would appear in finder but most just show an Icon.. It would be so much easier to find a particular file by cursoring the file instead of going through the issue of looking at each one in a program.

eDrawings Viewer is a free, standalone, app that will allow you to view DWG files. Follow the "Download" link up top for the Mac version.
