Block a contact from messaging but allow calls

Is it possible to block a contact so that I do not receive their text (MMS/SMS) messages, yet still allow their phone calls to be received?

1. I realize I have the option to turn on the "Do Not Disturb" under the details screen, within the message itself. I don't even want to see this person's messages when I'm scrolling through other messages.

2. I am also aware that you can go to: Settings>Messages>Blocked. But here it states that "You will not receive calls, messages, or FaceTime from people on the blocked list."

Any help would be much appreciated.

[For those who are dying with curiousity, the reason is bc this person is bold enough to be harassing via text, yet they are not quite as confrontational while talking. And I have to be able to communicate with this person.]

Not possible if they are using their telephone number as the identifier for both messages and voice calls. With imessages, if you had someone with an iPad only and thus no telephone number associated with their imessage account, you could make a telephone number contact for calls and a separate email address only contact for messages and block that contact.

But when a telephone number is assigned as an identifier for both voice calls and messages (SMS and iMessage) then the only option is to block all traffic from that contact.
