Q: Finder Crashes when dragging items to USB Hard Drives

Hi all!

It´s been a while that I have this problem.

I download some big itens (at least 1GB and up to 10GB) and try to drag (move) items to external USB Hard Drive or NAS Drive over network, and Finder simply closes / crashes. If I try to Command + C and Command + V, it works perfectly. If I drag (without moving) it closes / crashes too.

It´s all journaled formatted. Using multiple tabs to do the job.

Does anyone knows a workaround for this problem?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion

Two things you can try. On the external drive make a new folder. Name it you want. Open the folder and drag the file you want copied  to the folder. Or it you wish to drag the file and not leave behind the original. Hold down the command key while dragging the file.

    Yeah.. tried that.

As it´s not a problem that occurs all the time, this testes actually didn´t help. Once it happen once, with a specific file (origin) and folder combination (destination), it always happens until I restart the Mac. Them the problem is gone until Finder "wants" to do it all over again.
