Mar 3, 2016 3:54 AMby Vinceassociate,It sounds like you are talking about Apple 2 step verification. It requires a device that can accept SMS messages to get the code. This is not just an iPhone. Cell phones with text messaging are SMS.
Keep in mind you can turn off 2 step verification in your Apple account to avoid this extra step and avoid having to use SMS. It is not required.
