iPhone 6 storage issues

User uploaded fileUser uploaded fileIn the past Two days I'm getting non stop alerts from my iPhone saying I don't have enough storage space.

My camera and WhatsApp are blocked

Even though I deleted lots of apps, deleted all of my photos (including deleted items) and archived most of my WhatsApp conversations.

I synced my iPhone and installed the new software version - so everything is clean and up-to-date

Still - the problem remains and there are storage problems.

Up until two days ago there was no issue and I had lots of data on the phone - now I have half the size of data and the phone is full and stuck.

there seem to a bug or something because it doesn't make any sense... Two of my friends have the same problem!!

What can I do and how can it be fixed??

Please help!

Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on this device.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

If this does not help, restore your device to factory settings. Note that this will erase the data from your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article: Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

As a final step, try the recovery mode. Turn your device off, then plug it to your computer with the home button pressed. Keep the Home button pressed until you see the iTunes logo on the screen of your device. After that on your computer you should see the iTunes window saying your device needs to be restored to factory settings. Click on the restore button.

Hello,

that's a problem caused by the last WhatsApp update on any iPhone that has 16GB of storage, I work in an Apple Premium Reseller and I'm seeing lots of people coming to ask help for this problem.

I had this problem too, and the solution seems to be to have a hard-reset (DFU) on your phone. No physical backup is allowed, cause it would bring this "bug" back. So my suggest is to move your photos and videos on your computer or USB drive, and if you'd like to save your WhatsApp chat - have a chat backup done. After you saved all this thing have a DFU reset and restore your phone as new, and then restore your chat backup or photos/videos.

Hope that WhatsApp will release a fix update soon!

Thank you!

I've actually deleted all WhatsApp conversations and deleted the app and installed it again,

I've given up on restoring from back up and the app is now empty as new...

it released a lot of space on the phone and it seems like the problem is solved,

but I doubt if it wont return.

the battery suddenly runs empty in the speen of light...

its looks like an apple bug and not a whatsapp bug...

mysteriously everytime a new iPhone is released - all old iPhone start having weird problems...

I Hope Apple will do something about it soon

SOLVED!!!

After weeks (maybe months) dealing with this issue (everything: deleting photos and music, hard reset, full restore, deleting heavy apps…), today my phone has a lot of space available. The cause of the problem, as some of you pointed, was WhatsApp, but if you deleted it and reinstall it, the problem won't disappear. Today I got an update of the app (version 2.12.15) that in the update description recognizes and solves the issue. Here you got two screenshots:

The first bullet in the description says: "Solves an issue that caused sudden close of the app and AN ERROR THA CAUSED AN INCREASE IN THE MEMORY USE OF SOME PHONES".

As you can see, the new version number for the app is 2.12.15.

Sorry for my poor English grammar and spelling…

Hope this helped you!
