    Hello HarvaleDad,

That is the proper procedure to uninstall any legitimate software. EtreCheck will only delete bona fide adware and only then because adware usually doesn't come with its own uninstaller. But for anything else, you should only use vendor-provided uninstallers or uninstallation instructions. In some cases, you may need to reinstall the software to get a complete installation with an uninstaller.

Get rid of Trusteer. It doesn’t work well under Mac OS. Also uninstall RIM. More RAM would help. Apple states 2 GB, but the consensus seems to be 4 GB minimum and more is better. The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a early 2008 iMac supposedly limited to 4 GB and noticed an improvement.

You also need more RAM, 2GB is not enough for optimal performance, and unless you have a BlackBerry, remove the Rim software

Many thanks Eric. RIM and Trusteer now gone. Will def get more RAM. Notice a bit of improvement but would like more. Laptop in superb condition and love it so determined to get another few years out of it. Will check out the links you suggested.

    Thanks again.
