Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store

I'm not sure if you can hide them in the iTunes Store. You cannot delete a purchase from the list.

Thanks for the link Kappy, but it did not work.

I followed the directions for Mountain Lion or later (I run Yosemite), and the "purchased apps" does not show any of the apps I want to delete. It only shows one app from 3 years ago. ?????????

    This is very, very frustrating.

When I log into iTunes and access my purchased apps through that, they all come up (as icons, not a list). But there's no way to access a "hide" option from that page. I tried everything.

    Please, any advice? Thanks.

As I said, I don't believe you can hide purchases from the iTunes Store. The link I posted is for the Mac App Store, so it won't be of any help for your iTunes purchases.

I didn't purchase them from the iTunes store. I purchased them from the App Store, on my phone.

Just in case I was mistaken though, I followed the link for "How to hide iTunes store purchases" and that didn't work either. When I hold the cursor over the purchased app's icon, no "x" appears in the top-left corner that would enable it to be hidden.

That is the iTunes Store. The App Store generally is used to refer to the Mac App Store. Can become confusing, I know.

    Had no idea.

OK, so I will keep trying the "How to hide my iTunes purchases" directions. But so far, no luck.

Yeah... following the instructions... I see all my iTunes app purchases...

It's all good until Step 5:

Scroll to find the item that you want to hide. Hold the cursor over the item and an X appears in the upper-left corner. Click the X, and the item hides.

    This. Does. Not. Happen.

Yes, I can confirm that this is not functioning in the iTunes for Mac app currently. I functions for music and movies (I have have no TV shows) but not apps.

Thanks for confirming DahVeed. I went to my music purchases and yes, it works as it should. Had not thought of trying that.

So, is there no recourse? If I go the an Apple Store, will they be able to help?

Does anyone know how long this has not been doable? i.e. is there any reason to expect it will ever be fixed?

Hopefully anyone doing Apple seed testing for OS X and iTunes will file a bug report!
