Iphone 6 plus storage problem because of whatsapp.

What about it? If you're asking if this is 'a thing'. Yes it is. Complain to whatsapp support. That's not an Apple product.

To solve the problem, delete whatsapp and don't install it again until they fix it.

i had the same problem with whatsapp on my iphone 6S plus 64GB.

1) backup all your whatsapp chats, from inside the app whatsapp. if you need extra space to make the copy, unistall some games or something that is not really necesario

2) once the whatsapp backup is ready, delete the app.

3) once the whatsapp app is deleted, push power and home botton togheter up to see the Apple Logo. then leave both bottons.

4) when the device turn on, goes to settings - general - storage & icloud and look at the storage. the free space start increasing (in my case from 580Mb to 48GB of space)

My iPhone is showing the exact behavior as described but I do not have and never had WhasApp installed, so it is likely that another app is causing the same problem. I have started deleting apps to try to do a process of elimination, but I thought I would post what I've got just in case someone else already figured it out.

IF you do a search here, you will find a few other posts regarding this issue. This is a Whatsapp issue, and it seems that deleting Whatsapp will correct it, until Whatsapp comes up with a fix.
