Q: itunes not showing my latest podcast episode

Hi,

I recently switched podcast host and seem to have been able to get a redirect from my former host. I accidentally created two of the same podcast during the transition and recently deleted the one which i believed to be the old one from the iTunes store. Everything seems to be okay except when i check my iTunes store url from iTunes connect my latest episode doesn't appear on there but it appears on my podcast app on my phone and plays just fine. Not really sure why this is happening so any help is appreciated

Thanks

New episodes can take 1-2 days to appear in the Store although they appear immediately for subscribers (who read the feed directly, while the Store caches it and visits it in some sort of rotation).

I don't know whether that's the issue here. I can't answer you any further unless you post the URLs of your Store page and your feed.

Everything seems to be in order with the feed: it's just that the Store hasn't caught up yet. It caches feeds (because there are many thousands of them) and visits them in some sort of rotation. Usually it takes 1-2 days to catch up (depending where you are in the cycle) but it can sometimes take longer, and occasionally it seems to get 'stuck' and take much longer than usual.

This is probably what has happened here. There isn't anything you can do about it directly: it will probably sort itself out eventually. You could try alerting Libsyn support about it - they can do nothing directly either, but they may be able to query it with Apple and will likely get further doing so than you might. Rob Walch, who posts here, works for them and may well step in on this.

You have not finished fully setting up your show in your libsyn account.

In your account on libsyn go to - "Destinations" - then click Edit for "Libsyn Classic Feed" and then fill in the info on that page - make sure to select clean or explicit.  And to select add in an email for that page.

That all said - iTunes was having issues earlier this week updating - but best to make sure you have all the info in there they want to see.
