MacBook Pro 13" 2012 Graphics issue

Hello everybody,

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro 13' with the 2.5 GHz i5. I bought the laptop a few months back from a webshop that sells them refurbished. Ever since i've started using it I notice little graphics glitches, such as an icon in the dock where only the top half bounces, or in iTunes where after the artist name there is some sort of box. I thought that these were just little bugs and not important.

Today I went to the desktop and noticed two black weird bars on my wallpaper. They don't overlap on any programs and are just on the desktop. When I look at these bars the only thing I can assume is some sort of rendering failure.

Here is a screenshot (the picture uploading thing didn't work for some reason)

Is this a serious issue or should I ignore it as an OSX bug?

Thanks,

Dijs

Boot with the 'D' key and run the extended hardware test. Note temperatures of 52C are well within the norm of computer temperatures, whose internal temperature can approach the boiling point of water. Do not use temperature tools as Apple does not publish the Energy Saver/Fan activation sensor temperature limits, and these should not be tampered with. If you suspect your machine is overheating, see this tip:
