Image Capture not Dowloading All my Photos

Hi everybody,

I recently bought a new MacBook Pro, and want to download all the photos on my iPhone 5 onto my new laptop to free up some space.

However, when I use Image Capture, it only imports the 400 most recently taken pictures on my iPhone, instead of the ~2,100 I actually have stored on the phone.

Anybody know how to fix this?

Thank you,

L

Hello LionelSimm,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that when you're trying to import photos using Image Capture on your Mac, that only around 400 photos taken on your iPhone are being imported. This indicates that the other photos on your iPhone were synced, rather than taken on your iPhone. To remove synced photos please follow through the steps outlined below.

Delete synced photos

  1. In iTunes, locate and click on your device.
  2. Click Photos.
  3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
  4. Click Apply.

Learn how to delete photos and video synced from iTunes when you can't access the originals.

Cheers.
