Optical Drive doesn't work after installing El Capitan

I am very disappointed with the malfunction of the built in optical drive both on my iMac (27" mid 2011) and MBP (13" late 2011) soon after installing El Capitan. I have been struggling to fix this problem but never resolve. Anyone has a good solution? Apple?
