Final Cut Pro 5.0, Soundtrack Pro.app crashes immediately under OS 10.4.8 ?

All of the other programs in this group(Live Type,Cinema Tools,etc work beautifully but as soon as I start Soundtrack Pro the little beach ball rotates for a few seconds then crashes

Powerbook G4 1.67 GHz, Mac OS X (10.4.8), a lot of Pro applications

I have a similar problem when quitting Soundtrack Pro (10.4.8, Power Mac G5).
It then always crashes unexpectedly.
I already installed ProAppRuntime V 3.1 like suggested but without avail.
