Credit Card being charged everytime i reset my Apple id password, WHY?

Hi, I have observed this multiple times and today i want to raise it to forum to get an answer to this wrong practice by iTunes. Whenever i change my apple id password, i am required to confirm my payment info on my ipad, following which i am charged close to 1 USD everytime i confirm the same payment info, and the charge appears as billed to iTunes, i fail to understand for what you are charging me, i have not made any purchase, and if its just way to verify, why this money is never returned to the user?

Thanks,

Varun Sood

The card issuer is wrong, you should contact them again - temporary store holding charges should be automatically removed by the card issuer : About payment card authorization holds in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

Authorization holds are removed by your card issuer after a short time. The exact time it takes to remove authorization requests varies by financial institution.

If you use a debit card, you might see authorization holds as charges on your online statement. These charges are automatically reversed by your financial institution.

If you have questions about the way your card handles authorization requests, contact your financial institution.

Hi Varun.

The charge which you are seeing you close to 1 USD is just an authorization hold. When ever you update or change your Apple ID billing information iTunes Store will place an authoirzation hold in order to check weather the card is active and has available funds for future transactions.

These charges you will be seeing in your online bank statement. But when you receive your billing cycle these charges will not be present.

Please refer the below article for more information.
