My photos still appear in IPL even after deleting them from my device. Is it possible or some error?

Hi..I had read that if you delete photos from your device and if you have activated iCloud photo library, then these photos get deleted from the library as well permanently. Due to this reason I had switched to Google Photos. But surprisingly when I now log into my iCloud photo library, I see photos still appear there even though I had deleted them long back. Is it possible? or Is it some kind of error?

In fact it will be good if this feature is now available that allows you to delete photos from the device but retain them in iCloud Photo Library. Big storage saver!!!

Then something isn't syncing somewhere.

Please start by telling us your “iCloud Photo Library” and “My Photo Stream” settings on all of your devices. (Settings > Photos & Camera on your iOS device and Photos > Preferences > iCloud on your Mac)

Please also advise if there is any ongoing sync activity on any of your devices (Activity includes uploading, updating, downloading or preparing).

Also check whether the photos are being deleted at iCloud.com> Photos
