Q: Can't install g-chrome on mac: googlechrome.dmg image not recognized

I downloaded google chrome and am unable to open the file.  I'm running OSX El Capitan version 10.11.3

I have trouble opening pages with Safari sometimes, so need this to at least try another browser for certain websites.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

Looks like the downloaded file is corrupted.

Make sure you download Google Chrome from the official webpage and that your internet connection is fine.

Also, restart your Mac before attempting to download the file once again.

Also, you can try the troubleshooting steps for Safari below.

If you have problems opening webpages, take a look at these troubleshooting techniques suggested by Apple.
