Q: Where can I find an IOS 5.1.1 upgrade for an older model of iPad 2?

I spent over 2 hours in an Apple satellite store inside Micro Center. The purpose was to get the iPad 2 activated and to accept the IOS 9.0 upgrade. Each time the download was attempted, the error message popped up: ERROR CODE 9...4013. The tech was baffled as to why the iPad wouldn't load the upgrade. He suggested I go back to iTunes and lower the edition from 12 to something lower...maybe the download would work then. It did not. I had the idea that I might need to attempt a graduated upgrade for the iPad starting with edition 5.1.1. and then continue up the numbers until IOS 9.0 could be downloaded. I am trying that logic now, but if anyone has an idea...please let me know. Thanks so much!

Are you quite sure it is an iPad 2 (which has a camera) and not an original iPad, which has no camera and cannot handle an OS later than 5.1.1?

Thanks for responding. This has been a very frustrating issue. I have tried numerous times to download the 9.2.1 iOS upgrade. Every time I do, the screen shows the iTunes circle logo and the USB end of a cord and locks up. I spent two hours at an Apple store and they couldn't get anything to work...the upgrade or even to unlock teh iPad. The young tech suggested going to the site, WONDERSHARE. I did and found a sub-division called Phon (?) or something like that. When I clicked on it, the iPad came back to life, but I still cannot upgrade. I was thinking that since my wife's iPad has had several successive upgrades  shoudl I try to downgrade to the next iOS, which would be in the 5's. Just tossing ideas around until I can scoot to the official store near me and try the upgrade with a different tech. Cheers!

Tonefox and now myself are asking.

Does your iPad model have a rear facing camera lens and a front facing camera lens opposite the iPad's home button?

If, no? Then your iPad is the original iPad 1 and the original iPad 1 cannot upgraded past iOS 5.1.1

Hi Michael...yes, my iPad (#2) has both camera lenses, front and back.
