Q: Spark fade out effect in logo animation

Dear community

I'm currently working on a logo animation.

I use the behaviour line with the spark effect "magic dust". All frames In the timeline are ok. My problem: I want, that the "magic dust" are still sparkling (slow fade out) at the end of each line until all lines are showing. Now, all sparkling effects disappear immediately, when the next line is written. It's like a fade out effect for each line, which i'm searching. If i draw the block (timeline) in the length, the speed animation change also.

It's difficult to explain it, better you look on the screenshots and video.

Many thanks for your help!

Kind regards

For each instance of the magic dust, on the last frame of the animation set a keyframe on the Birth Rate. On the next frame set the Birth Rate to 0. The sparks will fade naturally over their "Life".

    Thank you very much.

I read this article concerning your answer: Motion 5: Particle cell controls

I've tried several times your advice. But nothing happens. Could you send me some tutorial screenshot pls? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

you have to care for TWO things:

    keyframing the birthrate

    length of group (!!)

    see...

    • a frame before ending I keyframe the birthrate at its actual setting (here:78)
    • playhead one frame forward - birthrate zero => no more new sparks
    • playhead several frames forward - group still 'alive', but sparks almost gone...

    btw: nice logo animation!!

Thanks a lot for this great tutorial!

My problem is, the "Mitschreiben" and Magic Dust must have exactly the same length. If I draw the Magic Dust in the length (more than Mitschreiben), the speed is not correct. I want to have this effect on the peak of each line. May you have another idea for me? Otherwise i have to copy the magic dust at the end of each animation that appears like a fade out effect?

I found the solution. I also have to work with the "Ein/-Ausblenden" setting.

    well, you've found your solution...

You could have simply played with the start and end point of the Write-On/'Mitschreiben' behavior....

That defines not only when the animation starts/end but 'speed' too

the overhead of the group defines how long the sparkles 'die'/fade out...

And you could have set the 'zero birth' way before the end of the animation....

… tricky, all 3 parameters corrolate.

To fade it out is a bit .. rude. But effective

    have fun movie making!
