Pre-release albums added via Apple Music don't unlock on release day

I'm having a problem with albums added to my library via Apple Music before release. Usually a few of the songs (singles) are able to be played before the release, but the rest of the album is greyed out. On release day, I would expect these songs to no longer be greyed out and playable but the album remains the same as before release. Only workaround I've found for this is to delete the album and re-add to access all songs, which is a problem as it removes any of the songs I had added to playlists. Does anyone know a better workaround or the "proper" way to unlock songs added to your library before release? When I pre-order an album on iTunes, I get a notification to download missing songs on release day. Why not the same via Apple Music?

I think I found a workaround. If I add only the unlocked pre-release songs to my library, there remains a + symbol on the album page (not there if you add the whole album, locked tracks and all). I think this will allow me to add the remaining tracks on release day. A bit tedious, but better than what I was doing. If anyone has a better solution, please share!
