I used Command-Control-Shift-4 to snip images to the clipboard all the time. On my 2010 Macbook when I would paste these images they would come out sized 1:1 based on the source. Since upgrading to a my new 2015 MBP with Retina now most (all?) of my snips paste at ~2x the size of the source and overwhelm my email messages (Outlook 2011).
Any idea if this is an O/S setting that can be changed?
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)
Have you tried clicking on it and then grading it from one of the corners to resize it.
You could also try Shift-Command-4 which will save the screenshot to your desktop and then you can paste it in your doc.

Thanks for the reply. Some programs allow resizing but not Outlook 2011. I just tried inserting a "Snip to File" and it has the same issue.

One of the thing it recommends is using Grab which you can find in your Utilities folder.
