Q: iMessages Sending Issues

Hello, I have been having issues, I went through a bunch of forum posts and apple support and I still can't fix it.

When, on my mac, I try to send messages through imessage to numbers that I'm sure are connected to imessage, it fails to send. All contacts besides my own number say "[number] is not registered with imessage." I've tried resetting PRAM and SMC, signing out of icloud on my phone and computer, restarting both devices, deleting associated preference files, and even using recovery mode to reinstall the OS, and its still occurring.

Setting up SMS relay doesnt work either, when I try to turn it on, messages opens but no code pops up, and the following appears in the console:

3/4/16 10:20:53.378 PM IMDPersistenceAgent[319]: [Accounts] Failed to update account with identifier 07EF47E9-27B4-4F77-8B43-98*******84E, error: Error Domain=ABAddressBookErrorDomain Code=1002 "(null)"

3/4/16 10:21:07.957 PM identityservicesd[258]: [Warning] Warning, missing tel:+***** in (null)

Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

From the sound of things your Apple ID on the Mac  is not logged in properly.

This is turn may mean that your iPhone and Mac are not linked properly for iMessages and therefore will  not link fro SMS (Text Forwarding).

The fact your Number is stated as "missing" is probably part of th issue as well.

Sign Out of the Apple ID on the iPhone.

Test from the Mac to the iPhone's number (manually try it as well as using your Contacts info).

If this works you should be logged back in.

If this is the case then check the iPhone > Settings > Messages > Send and Receive and check the the iPhone Number is ticked.

If it is not turn the App Off and wait for a while then turn it back on and wait for the Number to verify before adding back the Apple ID and resettting everything.

IF the Number is working but you cannot send from the Mac you will have to Contact Apple Support.

You ill need to say you have an Apple ID issue and that it relates to the Mac's use of the Apple ID in iMessages.

You will probably have to ask to speak to a Level 2 at least (Level ones are script led solving Apple Care issues)

It may still take some time before they tell you they will reset the iMessages servers for the Apple ID use from your Mac.  They may even tell you that this will take 24 hours.

We have found no way to speed this up.

    Hi,

I also asked the Hosts to edit your info as it showed your full telephone number.

As it seems to suggest the Address Book (Contacts App) info is "null" also check it has your details at the My Card (Contacts App > Card Menu > Show My Card).
