Q: Bootcamp install of Windows10, help please?

I have an 27" iMac <2 years old (running 10.11.3). I bought a copy go Windows 10 home 23/64 bit (it came as a USB). I read the help file on line and got started.

How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support

I used disk utility to create the image of the USB. I renamed it *.iso. The ISO file is 15 GB and change.

Create an ISO image for Boot Camp from Windows installation media - Apple Support

I opened the boot camp assistant, checked all 3 boxes and started. I selected the ISO file and my 32 GB USB as the target. I got an error message saying there was not enough space on the drive. Ok fine. Restarted with a 64 GB USB stick. Same error. The ISO is 15GB.

I went to the microsoft website and got an ISO file for Windows 10. That file was 8 GB and change.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

I repeated step 1 with the new ISO and selected my 8 GB USB stick as the target. Success.

The Mac when straight into the Windows setup at that point. We skipped Step 2, get support software. In the Install/setup screen, Windows asked for drivers. I selected the Windows 10 Home USB that I bought. Nothing, no drivers. I restarted my Mac an checked option 2 only (get support software). Repeated step 1 and now back to the install/setup screen. I was asked for drivers so I selected the new Apple support software USB I created. Same error message saying no drivers present, please select folder with drivers. So I restarted the Mac.

I have done and redone all of this about 20 times. I have wasted ~10 hours.

Can some one help? The help files are so clearly written and make it sound easy but fail at every step.
