I used my charger this morning and everything was fine I went to plug my phone in tonight and nothing has happened, it won't work at all! What can I do - so annoyed as I rely on my phone a lot.

Yeah I have a temporary replacement the top part is working something has happened to the cable but I'm not sure what as it was working fine earlier that day
The lightning cables are fairly delicate. There are 3 microcircuits in the lightning connector. They can be damaged by a power surge, or just rough handling. If you always charge with the Apple USB wall adapter you should be immune to power surges, but many 3rd party adapters are not as well protected.
