Stop apps from downloading on all users

How do I stop apps from downloading on all users? One user downloads an app from the app store and it gets downloaded to all users. Is there a way to stop this?

Drag the application from the main Applications folder to the user/home folder/Applications. What you are seeing is normal. Most applications are installed for everyone's use.

For the Macintosh App Store

System Preferences -> App Store -> uncheck [_] Automatically download apps purchases on other Macs

For iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch devices

iTunes -> Select your Device -> Apps -> uncheck [_] Automatically install new apps
