Q: Missing APP button from IPad air 2

Somehow or someway it has gone missing -- hard to do updates etc without it

iPad Air, iOS 9.2.1

Try Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure you didn't restrict it. Or try Settings>General>Reset>Reset home screen layout.

See if you can locate it by searching. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201285
If you cannot find it, go to Settings> General> Restrictions> Downloading apps needs to be on under allow.
