I want to connect my imac (late 2007-leopard) to my macbook pro (yosemite late 2014) so as to use the screen of i mac as the screen of macbook. Is that possible???

No, not directly. Target Display Mode requires a 2009 iMac or newer to work. It will not work with a 2007 iMac.

You might be able to use software like ScreenRecycler, but it may be laggy if your network is not fast enough.
