I want to update my computer to OS X Yosmite 10.10.5 but it says that my hard disk is full. I have tried to delete and move things off the computer but it wont help.

Delete more, until you have deleted enough. Or fit a bigger drive.
You are emptying the Trash after you delete something?
Yes...and I have deleted alot of movies and videos but when the alert tab pops up, it says that I still have the same amount of overuse on my disk storage
Control (right) - click on your hard drive icon and select Show Info from the contextual menu.
