el capitan ethernet not working

I fixed the issue with the Ethernet not working with el Capitan.

The article on Mac Daily News from Apple Support will work, but first note three very important things in order for this to work.

1. You must be using the Admin Account

2. Even if you have “Incompatible Kernel Extension Configuration Data.”3.28.2, the most recent version, don't despair and re-run the command.

3. The command is missing a parameter.

run it like this:

sudo software update --background

Then once you Quit Terminal and restart your Mac. Check "About this Mac"

Go to System Report

Look at Ethernet Cards under Hardware and it should display Ethernet Card information. (Before it was stating there was no ethernet card).

This should resolve the issue.

Disconnect Wi-Fi and reconnect the ethernet cable and it should be back online.
