I DROPPED MY PHONE IN THE TOILET HELP

I have an iPhone 5, it's been used since about 2013.

I dropped it in the clean toilet last night, immediately got it out, took my case off, then wiped it down. Being the idiot I am, I turned the phone on and checked to see if the display was working. It was, so instead of going to my computer and logging on and searching, I decided that searching from my phone would be faster, and googled my question. Google was freezing and so I decided to turn it off (not completely) and then I couldn't turn it on again. I made sure the headphone and charging ports were dry and then plugged my phone into the charger. Stupid, I know. My screen wouldn't function but it kept vibrating from all the times I force shut/on. Eventually, it stopped vibrating and then I did the rice trick. I checked the water damage button, and it still was white. I've had my phone in the rice for about 18 hours now, and it still won't turn on. Do you think my phone will still have a chance? And if it doesn't, will Apple be able to fix it or trade it in? I don't have AppleCare. Thanks!

iPhone 5, iOS 9.2.1, back camera does not work. old.

Alternately, you could save a substantial sum of money at a reputable non-affiliated repair shop. Should you decide to go that route and you subsequently use Apple for service, be aware of the following:

Select “iPhone”

Select “Learn more about service coverage”

http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipho ne&select=WARRANTY__PRICING

Under Out-of-warranty repair service, select “Read Apple’s Repair Terms and Conditions”

http://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/terms/repair/

Select “General Terms”

http://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/terms/repair/

Select “English”

Scroll down to section 1.10.6

1.10.6 Disclosure of Unauthorized Modifications. During the service ordering process, you must notify Apple of any unauthorized modifications, or any repairs or replacements not performed by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (“AASP”), that have been made to your product. Apple will not be responsible for any damage to the product that occurs during the repair process that is a result of any unauthorized modifications or repairs or replacements not performed by Apple or an AASP. If damage results, Apple will seek your authorization for any additional costs for completing service even if the product is covered by warranty or an AppleCare service plan. If you decline authorization, Apple may return your product unrepaired in the damaged condition without any responsibility.

Looks like you need a new phone. Since your back camera is also not working. Apple will probably replace your phone, but it will likely cost you.
