Q: "This account does not belong to this store"

All I want to do is update WhatsApp. I have two Apple IDs, one for the US and one for Mexico. I am in the US and my phone is logged in with the US Apple ID. However, when I try to update the app, I get an error message saying that I can't because (and I'm translating from Spanish here so it might not be exact), "This account does not belong to this store". Then it gives me the options to cancel or switch to the Mexican store. So I click Switch to the Mexican store and nothing happens. It goes nowhere. I get a blank screen.

I tried logging out of my Apple ID and logging back in, but the same thing happens. I checked the country setting and it IS set to United States.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2

So I just answered my own question and thought I'd post it here in case anyone else ever has this problem.

It turns out the I first downloaded WhatsApp using the Mexican AppleID, so I could not update it from my US AppleID. I had to sign out if the US ID, log on using the Mexican ID, and then I was able to update this app.

Apparently this is the only App I have that works this way. All of the other Apps are on the US account. A bit complicated, but at least I figured it out and got the #$*&! app updated.
