Did you just update to  OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)?  Then you need to update to iPhoto 9.5.1. But this update is no longer available as an update. It has only been sold as a AppStore version. Apple stopped the development of iPhoto. It will depend on the version you currently have, if you can update iPhoto at all.

Which version of iPhoto do you currently have installed? Does it look crossed out like this?

Yes, this is the picture I have, but I have not updated to maverix.

I can buy a new one, just so I can take in my pictures from my camera, whiteout to use finder.

Which MacOS X version do you have then?  Your profile signature says "Mavericks".

To find the system version click the -menu in the upper left corner of your display and click "About this Mac": It will show you the system.

And the crossed out  iPhoto icon - ist it colored orange like a sunset or is it blue like a daylight picture?

The big problem is, that it is no longer possible to buy iPhoto, if you have a newer system.  That is why we need to know exactly, which iPhoto version you are having and the MacOS X version you are running. Only this way can we see, which version you need to install.
