Q: Why isn't my FaceTime working in a different country?

I am currently in Ireland from the States. I want to FaceTime people in the States, but it will never connect with them. I have updated my settings and ensured that their numbers have the +1. My wifi connection on my Mac is good, too.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

You should not have changed the phone numbers. Restore them to what they were and try FaceTime again.
