Q: where can I get 10.9 and 10.10 for my mac if my latest is 10.8.

I skipped OS X 10.9 and 10.10 on my home system because I required a stable system during that release cycle and did not have time to troubleshoot potential issues. If it isn't broken, don't fix it! 10.11 wreaked havoc on my system at work and I had to rollback to 10.7.5. Issues encountered from 10.7.5 to 10.11 included complete failure to load apple app store meaning I could not manage other installed apps. I also had issues with other core system services and could not resolve them, so rolled back.  I want to move forward on my home machine to a later, stable version but am unwilling to try 10.11 based on prior trouble. I like the feature that allows rollback via time machine and would like to get 10.9 and then 10.10 running but cannot find a download in the app store. Any help would be appreciated.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), iOS 8.4

    You should NOT have skipped at least downloading (but quitting the install) of those releases when then came out.  That way they would be sitting in your App Store -> Purchases tab.

     

    But if you NEVER downloaded them they are NOT available to you any longer.  You can move to El Capitan or stay where you are.

     

    Suggest you at least download El Capitan to get it into your App Store -> Purchases tab in case you have this change of heart about El Capitan in the future.

     

    If you absolutely must have Mavericks or Yosemite, make a Genius Bar appointment, and ask if they will install the older OS X release(s).  If you have a compelling reason, they may perform this service.
