Mar 7, 2016 11:49 AM in response to twitch4685by javaliga,I'm not sure who EE is (where you bought the phone). But, I suspect the phone is asking for the PREVIOUS owner's AppleID. If so, unless you can contact the original owner and get them to remotely unlock the phone, the phone is USELESS to you (or anyone else) and NO ONE can help you - even Apple. Try to get your money back from EE. You can also see this link:

Mar 7, 2016 12:06 PM in response to twitch4685by ChrisJ4203,This was during the activation process? That makes it sound like Activation Lock, and that would mean the device wasn't new, and had already been activated in the past.

Mar 7, 2016 12:15 PM in response to twitch4685by twitch4685,So I got frustrated and just set up a new iCloud email address.
Not a good start to Apple considering I just wanted to use the email address I have had for the 17 years.
Thanks to those who were looking to assist.
