A friend of mine sent me an apple store gift card to buy some game for my son. How to do it?
It seems the apple store gift card is only to buy apple products. He should have send me iTunes gift card.
By the way iTunes and app store are separate apps on my mac os x yosemite. So it seems logical that iTunes gift card are to buy iTunes items and CANT buy app store items.
If i can't use it can I send it back to him so he can be refunded?

An Apple Store gift card works to buy things in an Apple Retail store and on Apple's online store (to buy Apple Computers, headphones, accessories, etc..), NOT in iTunes or the AppStore.
An iTunes gift card WILL work in iTunes and the AppStore. So you need to know if you have an Apple Store gift card or an iTunes gift card.
If you can redeem the gift card using an iTunes account in iTunes, then that money works in the AppStore as well. Just make sure you have the same Apple ID logged into all of your devices.

I don't know if you could go into an Apple Store and buy an iTunes card there. Also note despite Apple's confusing policy of calling everything "Apps" now, what you run on an iPod and what you run on a computer are not the same thing (for now at least).

I am abroad so I can't use it in an apple store there. It seems the gift will only profit to apple. No one will ever use it and it can't be refund.
Seeing the lack of clarity I think it's a frequent "mistake".
How to ask apple for help? They can't let a child without is gift? ( and keep the money)
It's a apple store gift card. A pure mistake.
It should have been an iTunes gift card. Money stuck on apple account.
Contact iTunes support. Not sure if they can help with this or not but they are the best place to ask.

As you can see following the link, unfortunately, it does not solve my problem. I got to post again. Friend cash is still on apple account. Child gift is not delivered.
